The cello is often a beautifully hand crafted music instrument. Compared to other stringed instruments which include the violin or viola, it produces a warm tone. Now which you have decided to learn to play the cello, you will need to take into consideration the following ahead of you get started your cello lessons.Get or rent a cello ahead of you start out your cello lesson, you might need to source for your cello. You could have the choice of purchasing your individual cello or renting 1. Some students aren't very positive if they like to play the cello and only wish to do a trial lesson to test this out. In this case, my guidance would be to rent one. Typically a fine good quality cello which is properly set up for best tone high quality would expense roughly 1 hundred dollars to rent for a month. You'll be asked to put up a deposit to the value of the instrument along with your local cello shop. This deposit is fully refundable upon return of the cello, cello bow and case in great condition. I would suggest getting Ebony Frog Cello due to the fact it really is physically and mentally stimulating, emotionally satisfying, as well as a source of social engagement.
If you're extremely positive which you enjoy the sound of the cello and will take pleasure in your lessons using the cello teacher, then go ahead and buy one. Pay a visit to a number of reputable music instrument dealers located in your city and test out as many cello as you wish. Most importantly, choose your cello based on your spending budget and tone top quality.Pick a suitable cello bow aside from the cello, ask your nearby music instrument dealer to select a suitable bow for your music instrument. Various cello bows produce diverse tone on the same music instruments. So pick this wisely.

Cello - Problems choosing!?
Hi there! So, I have a problem

-4 adjuster metal tailpiece
-Accessories: Carrying bag, Bow & Rosin
The cost isn't importante, I just want to know which one is better, because I don't know which one is
So, help me, please???
To be perfectly honest with you, you can tell very little about the quality or sound of the cello just judging by the information they give you online and the picture.
I think that the best thing a musician can do for themselves is go to an actual store and try out every single cello in your price range. Every single cello will differ in sound and feel. Some players might prefer something more sweet, bright. While others prefer mellow, or dark, or clear. But you simply can't tell what kind of instrument it is if you buy it online.
The same also applies to the bow. It might seem like such a small tool but different bows can also add to the sound that you produce. Each bow is different in weight.
For example, my bow is on the lighter end of the weight spectrum and combined with my instrument, it produces a mellow sound compared to a heavier bow which gives it more voice.
I hope you understand where Im coming from. I just wish for you to make a good decision since buying it online cannot guarantee that you'll like it and returning it would be a problem.
But....if you must choose from the two above.... my comments are:
-the Hofner bow sounds nice since most student bows aren't made from wood
-Other than that, all the other info they give you (like the spruce top, maple, ebony pegs/fingerboard, tailpiece, etc.) aren't significant at all because it is basically the same for all cellos.
-when choosing online, i might choose the one that's more expensive. Price is never a good standard to judge something from, but in this case, it might have to do.
The best of luck!
EDIT: In response to what Archer has said;
It is true that old instruments tend to produce a better sound than new ones due to its wood being hardened during the years. However, only GOOD old instruments produce this result. Old instruments that are good enough to buy should never be less than $10,000. If they are are less, you are better off spending that money on a new cello.
Music scores and music theory books you will should buy a fantastic guide book so that your cello teacher can guide you by way of your 1st cello lesson. The Suzuki cello book (volume 1) is really a quite very good choice to start with as this covers the basics like proper posturing, ways to take care of your cello and ways to read notes.Your music instrument teacher will need to cover fundamental music theory with you. The ABRSM series of theory books are the best selection in this aspect. I would suggest acquiring Ebony Frog Cello considering that it can be physically and mentally stimulating, emotionally satisfying, and a source of social engagement.
Once you commence serious study and go on to play with others, you are going to also struggle to arrive at emotional maturity. If your teacher corrects you, you won't get angry and feel defensive. You know he's trying to assist. If you make a mistake, say, in playing Haydn's Opus 20, #4, which has quite a few tricky cello passages, none of your quartet mates will reproach you. What would be the point? Your fellow amateur musicians know that you simply are absolutely attempting to do it right. So you try once more, learning modesty, resolution, and even humility. If the other players give some verbal criticism, attempting to clarify some thing you missed, you can't afford to take it personally. They all need to have you to do your part to create this invisible, yet palpable function of creation. Just try once again.
